Protect your bearings from corrosion and rust

In collaboration with steel suppliers, MinebeaMitsumi developed a new highly anti-corrosive material to meet customers demands. This new material is up to 200 times more resistant to corrosion and rust than standard stainless steel. It is ideal for applications that require exposure to humidity, salt water or high pressure spray downs such as medical devices and fishing reels.

Typically each component of the bearing is coated prior to assembly in order to achieve corrosion resistance. This process is not only time consuming, but also introduces multiple opportunities for failure such as deformations and operating malfunctions. GP2 (2rd generation Giga Protection) bearings do not require special manufacturing processes and therefore contribute to cost savings.
